This is for any and every woman who has been abused, whether physically, mentally or emotionally. You are worth more than that, you are better than that. You are a phenomenal woman
Crayola
you... were the reason for my Iridescence
my bright lights and my dark nights
my fiery reds and my midnight blues
one minute, the crimson blush on my cheeks
the next…the indigo marks on my physique
the tri-color of my early mornings
then my eyes, the pale pink from your nightly scorning...
im mourning...
mourning the days when i woke up with a glow, had a pep in my step and donned a smile that made traffic go slow
the neons…
seems like eons ago….
from the neons, came the pastels...
with the intensity fading, everything grew pale
my days, dull and ashen, happiness derailed
seemed like our passion was swept up by a gale
…..
i mean…
...
it wasn’t all bad, things still went well,
but the varnish, tarnished. your reality unveiled
you showed your true colors, your facade turned stale
unwittingly, i walked to the brink of hell.
Help...
This was a word i could not utter when i eventually landed face first in your golden ambers
The rouge opacity of your inferno, blinded me, silenced me…..
leaving me increasingly handicapped as i violently fought the violet of the dusk that was befalling me.
the darkness was calling me
but without stalling, i began crawling, determined to escape your abusive strokes that were dyeing my complexion, turning it into a palette of cyaneous mauve
it was time to go.
time to rid myself of the intrinsic and extrinsic pigmentation that u induced.
time to alleviate the shade, u penciled in to my existence
and time thin the multicolored paint of pain and sorrow
Your colors could endure within me, no more
and even if this means that i’d be a box of crayons with only shades of grey
i’d rather exist in monochromaticity than suffer in the rainbow of your iniquity.

I want to give the world music with no face. I want people to appreciate my music without having to picture me singing it. I want to exercise people's imagination.
